The MMP Method

Professional Faucet & Sink Diagnostic

Professional Faucet & Sink Diagnostic
  1. 01 Precise Diagnostics

    Step 1: Precise Diagnostics

Every faucet or sink call starts with figuring out what's actually wrong. A drip can be a worn cartridge, a failed ceramic disc, a corroded valve seat, or a cracked ball assembly — they all look the same from above the counter and need very different fixes. A sink leak can be the P-trap, the slip-joint nut, the supply line, the angle stop, the basket strainer, the garbage disposal gasket, or the faucet base — and finding the actual source matters way more than guessing. I diagnose the real problem before pulling out any wrench.

  2. 02 Transparent Flat-Rate Quote

    Step 2: Transparent Flat-Rate Quote

Once I know what's wrong, I give you a clear flat-rate quote — no hourly surprises, no "while I'm here" charges piling up at the end. Repair vs. replace gets laid out plainly so you know whether you're fixing a fixable faucet or putting good money into a unit that's going to fail again in six months. You approve the price before any work begins.

  3. 03 The Right Parts For The Job

Step 3: The Right Parts For The Job

Brand-name parts from local Utah supply houses — Moen, Delta, Kohler, Pfister, Grohe, Hansgrohe — never the off-brand cartridge a homeowner finds for $8 online that doesn't actually fit their valve. The right cartridge, the right O-rings, the right seat-and-spring kit. Faucets installed with new supply lines and new angle stops where they're needed, not reused on borrowed time.

  4. 04 Comprehensive Post-Repair Check

    Step 4: Comprehensive Post-Repair Check

After the repair, the fixture gets tested under real-world use: full hot, full cold, mix valve through its range, sprayer (if applicable), drain flow under load, every connection checked dry, every nut snugged to the right torque. P-traps and supply connections get a five-minute soak test before I pack up — a leak that shows up after I leave is the most expensive kind of mistake.

  5. 05 Clean and Respectful Service

Step 5: Clean and Respectful Service

Drop cloths down in the cabinet, towels under every joint, every old part bagged out instead of left in your trash. The cabinet underneath gets wiped before I leave. Your kitchen or bathroom isn't a job site — it's where your family lives, and I treat it that way.

Questions Homeowners Ask About Our Faucet & Sink Repair Services

Questions Homeowners Ask About Our Drain Cleaning

What counts as faucet and sink repair?

Faucet and sink repair covers dripping or leaking faucets, faucet handle problems (won't turn off, won't turn on, leaks at the base, sprays everywhere), sink basin leaks, P-trap leaks, supply line and angle stop failures, garbage disposal repair and replacement, basket strainer and drain assembly issues, faucet replacement, and full sink installation. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry, bar sinks, utility sinks — all of it.

Do you give pricing before starting faucet or sink work?

Yes. Flat-rate pricing is the standard — you get the number, sign off, and the work starts. No mystery line items, no "while I'm under here" charges showing up at the end.

Can I text photos of my faucet or sink before booking?

Yes — a few photos make a huge difference. Photo of the faucet from above (the brand and model are often visible on the base), photo of the underside of the sink (supply lines, angle stops, P-trap, garbage disposal if there is one), and a close-up of where the leak is coming from. Most faucet calls can be 80% diagnosed before the truck pulls up.

Do you charge a service fee just to come look?

Not always. Many faucet and sink issues can be diagnosed remotely from photos and a description of what's happening. If an in-person diagnostic is genuinely needed, the cost and reasoning get explained before anything is scheduled.

How quickly can you come out for a faucet or sink repair?

When the schedule allows, same-day or next-day is often possible. An actively dripping faucet, a leaking shutoff that won't close, or a sink that's leaking into the cabinet are the kinds of calls where a quick phone or text is the fastest way to find out what's available.

Can you fix a dripping or leaking faucet?

Yes. Dripping faucets are usually a worn cartridge, a failed ceramic disc, a corroded valve seat, or a cracked ball assembly. On older faucets the right move is sometimes a rebuild kit, on others it's a cartridge replacement, and on some it's a full faucet replacement because parts aren't made anymore. Mountain Man Plumbing walks through all three options before pulling anything apart.
