West Jordan homeowner wanted to get ahead of a problem before it became a flood. Old PRV was toast, gate valve serving it was worse, and the galvanized nipples were covered in green. Smart move on their part. Way cheaper to do this on your schedule than at 11pm with water hitting the basement floor.
The only working shutoff was the curbside city valve so we coordinated a safe shutoff at the curb. While the water was off we did the whole assembly at once because doing it any other way means a second curbside shutoff later.
New red handle ball valve in place of the old gate valve so the homeowner can actually shut their water off without calling the city next time. Brass nipples in place of the galvanized. New Caleffi PRV with a built in pressure gauge so the customer can see what their pressure is doing instead of guessing.
Tested under pressure, every joint dry, water back on. Customer got a system thats going to last another 30 years.
