We recently received a call from a new homeowner in Salt Lake City who was trying to get ahead of winter. He had just moved in and noticed that the outdoor hose bib wasn’t working at all. It’s safer, cleaner, and avoids bringing an open flame into someone’s house, especially in tight wall cavities or near insulation.Once everything was pressurized and tested, the hose bib functioned perfectly with strong flow and a secure shutoff. What started as a simple concern turned into a full repair that now protects the home for many winters to come. The homeowner loved the peace of mind, and this project is a great example of why a failing spigot should never be ignored. A proper frost free installation gives reliable year-round use and eliminates the risk of hidden freeze damage in older Salt Lake City homes.
