We got called to a very nice house in Park City after the home had already taken a flood. The water came from a leaking shutoff valve serving a fixture. It was an unfortunate event, but it was another clear example of how those old multi-turn valves fail when you least want them to.
Once we were on site, we went through the fixture stops. The old turnstile valves were seized, corroded, and past their useful life. We shut the water down as needed, pulled the bad stops, and put in new standard quarter-turn fixture shutoff valves where they were compatible. We also replaced the toilet supply line and reconnected everything cleanly, then restored water and checked for leaks and proper operation.
We changed out all the fixture valves and got the house back into compliance—no more turnstile valves. That’s probably the number one thing you should check in your own home: what kind of shutoff valves you have. They’re easy to forget about until you either need them or they start leaking on you. It is probably best to inspect what you have and maybe consider a replacement if they look old or are showing signs of leakage.

Communicated well and was punctual!Posted on Google NathanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tyler from Mountain Man Plumbing replaced my in-house main water shutoff valve and the pressure reducing valve (PRV) with a very practical new system that enables me to view the line pressure coming in and any drops in pressure easily. Very good looking workmanship. Prior to the work Tyler came out to my home and provided an estimate on the work, and stuck to the estimate. He's been easy to work with, cleaned up after himself, and also allowed me to change an appointment close to my originally planned estimate appointment over the phone. The website is also easy to use and efficient for scheduling an estimate. Thank you!Posted on Google JeremyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience with Mountain Man Plumbing. Highly recommend Tyler and the team if you’re looking for reliable, efficient plumbing work!Posted on Google DanaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tyler was very professional, polite and honest. Instead of trying to sell me new parts or a whole new water heater he showed me that some of the heating elements just needed cleaned. I would recommend this company for anyone looking for honest help to get the right fix without getting ripped off.Posted on Google KyleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Efficient, clean, and knowledgeable.Posted on Google WendyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tyler was great! Hard to find a plumber who preps for a service call like he did. He asked questions before he came over to fix a shower valve so he could make sure he had the right parts for the fixture so he was as efficient as possible when he got here. Communication was great prior to the service call and during. Fixed everything I needed in a couple of hours for a very reasonable price.Posted on Google EllenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
