On this condo unit we pulled the old three-quarter horsepower disposal and set it aside with the wiring open while we staged the replacement. Basic was just fine here. No matter what the manufacturers say, in shared pipes that weren’t engineered to handle lots of food waste, you shouldn’t be putting excessive amounts of anything down the drains to begin with.
We hung the new InSinkErator Badger Series unit, locked the mounting ring, and tied in the drain and dishwasher lines. A small unit takes care of that just fine in a condo like this. Job done and the sink was back in service the same visit.
