Mountain Man Plumbing received an urgent call from a homeowner in Sandy experiencing a significant basement leak. Upon arrival, it became immediately apparent that the older home’s plumbing presented more challenges than anticipated. None of the existing valves were operational, leaving no immediate way to shut off the water.
Inspecting the problematic pipe revealed severe corrosion; the copper was as thin and brittle as a tin can. The situation quickly escalated when attempting to move the pipe, causing it to break almost instantly. This heightened the urgency, requiring swift and decisive action.
Using remote shutoff techniques, Mountain Man Plumbing successfully halted the water flow, preventing further damage. With the immediate crisis managed, we proceeded with the critical repair work.
Our solution involved removing the compromised pipes entirely and installing new, durable copper piping paired with high quality stainless steel hoses. Additionally, robust quarter turn ball valves were integrated into the plumbing system. These reliable, easy to use valves ensure a secure and rapid water shutoff capability for years to come.
After completing the installation, we rigorously tested all new connections and components, ensuring they were leak free and functioning optimally. The homeowner was left with peace of mind, knowing their Sandy home’s plumbing had been significantly upgraded and reinforced with modern, durable materials.
This Sandy leak repair project exemplified Mountain Man Plumbing’s commitment to excellence, showcasing our expertise in addressing challenging plumbing scenarios swiftly, reliably, and with superior craftsmanship.

If you're in need of a plumber, I strongly recommend contacting Mountain Man Plumbing. I hired Tyler to replace a 1980's style leaky bathtub valve at my house, and was highly satisfied with how it turned out. Unfortunately, the valve was installed in a wall covered with tile on one side and kitchen cabinets on the other. To access and replace the valve, he climbed into a small cabinet, maneuvering himself in an awkward position to cut a hole in the back of it. This eliminated the need to replace the bathtub tile, saving both money and time. Best of all, the new valve looks amazing and our shower was out of commission for three hours instead of three weeks.
