We received an urgent call from a Millcreek homeowner experiencing a sudden pinhole leak in their aging polybutylene pipes. Unfortunately, calls like this are common due to polybutylene's well documented history of unexpected leaks and water damage.At Mountain Man Plumbing, we believe that fully replacing polybutylene plumbing is always the safest option. Because of the known risks, we are unable to provide warranties or guarantees on repairs involving polybutylene pipes. However, we understand a complete system replacement isn't always immediately possible for every homeowner.Responding quickly, we arrived at the homeowner’s residence and promptly assessed the situation. With careful attention, we installed specialized transition fittings and replaced the leaking section with modern PEX piping. Our rapid response minimized further damage, quickly restoring water service to the home.Many homes built in Millcreek during the 1980s and 1990s were fitted with polybutylene piping, making leaks a common local issue. At Mountain Man Plumbing, we've encountered and successfully resolved numerous polybutylene pipe failures in the area. Although this repair was a temporary solution, our timely intervention provided the homeowner valuable time to plan for a future plumbing replacement. We take pride in stepping up quickly when Millcreek homeowners need us most.
